What is a "codlin moth"?

A codlin moth is a notable pest of apple and pear trees, causing damage to the fruit during its larval stage. This tiny moth species has a wingspan of approximately 1.5 to 2 centimeters and is typically grayish-brown. The adult moths emerge in the spring and lay eggs on the fruit or nearby leaves.
